Cocoon represents the study of the design students as a whole –
a warm and protected space to grow and unfold. All of them going through their very own metamorphosis to break out of the cocoon as shimmering beings.

The catalogue called insight is protectively wrapped in translucent paper and has to be torn open first to reveal its insides: a three piece brochure. It is held together by a vibrant elastic strap, which gives it a light and airy feel despite its large volume.

Contents are a variety of projects created by students during the semester. The main focus of the catalogue is the graduates alongside their bachelor and master theses.

GRADUATES
Before the photoshoot graduates were told to behave as if they had just hatched from their cocoon, looking to a future as established designers. The dazzling costumes and accessories were provided by several local theatre archives.
To illustrate the metamorphosis, a 3D scan was made of each graduate, representing a left-behind cocoon. Flowing cloths as a sign of everlasting change complete the image composition.
